In the summer, there are a variety of outdoor activities you can enjoy such as rafting, hiking, etc.
Also, multi-colored Alpine plants and the “Hakuba Grand Snowy Gorge”, a long, large gorge still frozen and covered in snow, is inviting to mountain climbers.
In the fall, mountain trees are aflame in bright red and yellow. Sandan koyo, “Three step autumn tints.” The three autumn tints displayed on the summit in white by snow, on the hillside red with autumn colors, and the foot of the mountain with green leaves. This is one of the most beautiful sights in Hakuba. At this time of year, soba, “buckwheat noodles” Hakuba’s specialty will be in season.

Hakuba Museum is dedicated to the works of Marc Chagall. Enjoy the anthologies of Marc Chagall who is called, “the magician with colors.” There is always on display 120 to 150 of his 480-piece print collection from his early copperplate pieces to his later works of art.
